Both of these teams are coming off defeats and will be keen to bounce back immediately. The Kings are desperate for a win to push back into the reckoning for a play-off place but the Vikings will want to stamp their authority on the tournament despite losing last time. Their pride will have been dented by the heavy loss to the Riders and they will want to bounce back and they should have too much for the inconsistent Kings.
Plenty on the line for both teams coming into this game as they sit outside the play-off places and simply have to win this match to have any chance of reaching them. The Titans beat the Sixers on Wednesday in an entertaining match but that was in Dhaka.
The Vikings are the form team in the Bangladesh Premier League having won their last five matches as they now face off against the star-studded Riders team as the tournament moves to Chittagong. Rangpur have picked up their game notably in the last two matches and while their bowling unit remains fragile, the Vikings are not exactly scoring that big with the bat themselves to take full advantage of it.
Both of these teams sit outside the top four places but the Kings are fifth on net run rate and firmly in contention while this is virtually a last chance for the Sixers. In recent matches, it is the Kings who have shown more quality and form compared to the Sixers who have lost their last three.
This match is pretty much a last chance saloon for either of the teams to make a run for a top four place now so there is plenty at stake. Both teams have been losing matches but have been competitive with their batting especially clicking into gear.
Both of these teams come into this match in tremendous form so this should be an entertaining affair. The Kings showed in Frylinck’s absence that they do not rely on him completely, but he has been so key for them in a number of matches and won the game for them last time out.
Batting is clearly the strength for both of these teams at the moment as they have gone heavy in their selections in terms of the overseas players at least with batsmen. That is leaving them a little imbalanced and leaves them vulnerable.
Monday saw both of these teams lose in miserable fashion and their performances were significantly below par. The Victorians are struggling without their batsmen converting their starts into big scores while the Dynamites bowling unit is unable to produce the goods.
Dhaka will be happy to return home after the Sylhet phase of the tournament, and they will be keen to kick on and consolidate their top spot. The Vikings are in superb form themselves right now and their batting line-up especially is on fire.
The Kings have been incredibly inconsistent so far in the BPL and that has made them extremely difficult to predict on. The Victorians are looking strong at the moment with some of their key players starting to hit form.
The Titans have shown an improvement in the last two matches to suggest they will be much more competitive for the remainder of the tournament now.
Both of these teams are under pressure to get a victory here as they sit level on four points in the Bangladesh Premier League table. The Riders especially have the pressure of having so many big names in their ranks and the expectation on them, while the Sixers will be keen to get a win at home in Sylhet.
Khulna Titans are coming off their first win in the BPL which should give them confidence but it was still a far from convincing performance. They are bolstered by the inclusion of Yasir Shah which will help but they will have to be at their best against the Victorians.
Dhaka Dynamites are coming off their first defeat of the Bangladesh Premier League and that will likely see them fired up to bounce back immediately here. The Sixers on the other hand are coming off an excellent win, and their confidence will be strong.
