THE TEAM NEWS

LEEDS RHINOS

Head Coach: Richard Agar

Squad: T. Briscoe, Cuthbertson, Donaldson, Dwyer, Ferres, Handley, Hurrell, Lui, Lunt, Martin, McLelland, Merrin, Newman, Peteru, Seumanufagai, Singleton, Smith, L. Sutcliffe, Walker

Unavailable: Dom Crosby, Stevie Ward, Carl Ablett, Richie Myler

  • Leeds suffered a heavy defeat in their relegation four-pointer against Hull KR as the Rhinos were outclassed in all departments but will hope they can get back to winning ways as they host a Hull FC team that they have not lost to on home soil since 2007.

  • Richie Myler will be missing for the Rhinos after he copped a one-game ban for tripping during the game with Hull KR last week but prop Brad Singleton is back in the fold after he served a one-match suspension last week.

  • Youngster Callum McLelland is brought into the squad for Myler whilst Nathaniel Peteru is back after recovering from a fractured cheekbone with Mikolaj Oledzki and Jamie Jones-Buchanan making way.

HULL FC

Head Coach: Lee Radford

Squad: Bowden, Connor, Ellis, Faraimo, Fash, Green, Griffin, Hadley, Houghton, Lane, Manu, Minichiello, Naulago, Paea, Shaul, Sneyd, Taylor, Tuimavave, Westerman

Unavailable: Matty Dawson-Jones, Jack Logan, Andre Savelio, Albert Kelly

  • Hull FC got back to winning ways as they beat London but have plenty of to work on as they took their foot off the gas in the second half and will need to overcome their terrible run at Headingley as they face Leeds.

  • Gareth Ellis will be back in contention for the Black and Whites after having the 40 or so stitches removed from his facial injury that saw him sit out last week’s win over London and should come into the side to face his former club.

  • Jordan Lane is also back in the mix for the black and whites after overcoming a knee injury with him building his fitness in two appearances for the club’s reserves in recent weeks with Kieran Buchanan making way.

THE PREDICTION

Leeds failed to capitalise on the chance to give themselves some breathing space at the foot of the table as they were well beaten by Hull KR. They now face a Hull FC side that they have not lost to on home soil since 2007 but if FC are ever going to win at Headingley, this is their chance. They will have one eye on next week’s Challenge Cup semi-final but need to win in order to retain their solid position in the league and with places in the side up for grabs for the Warrington clash, Hull should be up for this with them finding a way to overcome their awful record here.
