THE TEAM NEWS

CASTLEFORD TIGERS

Head Coach: Daryl Powell

Squad: Blair, Clare, Clarkson, Egodo, Holmes, Maher, Massey, Mata’utia, McMeeken, McShane, Millington, Milner, Minikin, O’Neill, Rankin, Sene-Lefao, Smith, Trueman, Watts

Unavailable: Luke Gale, Jamie Ellis, Alex Foster, Michael Shenton, Junior Moors

  • Castleford secured a huge win in their bid to make the play-offs as they condemned rivals Wakefield to another big defeat but face another important contest as they host second-placed Warrington.

  • The Tigers looked a lot better with Jake Trueman back in the side with Jordan Rankin also relishing his role at fullback which could see Castleford name the same 17 that took to the field last week.

  • Head coach Daryl Powell has opted to name the same 19-man squad from the win over Wakefield and that may be the biggest indication that no changes will be forthcoming for this clash with Warrington.

WARRINGTON WOLVES

Head Coach: Steve Price

Squad: Austin, Burrell, Charnley, D. Clark, J. Clark, Cooper, Currie, Davis, Goodwin, Hill, Hughes, Johnson, King, Lineham, Livett, Mamo, Moran, Patton, Philbin, Tasi, Walker

Unavailable: Kevin Brown, Stefan Ratchford, Ben Westwood, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Sitaleki Akauola

  • Warrington suffered a shock defeat against Salford as the Wolves' grasp on second place in the table was reduced to just two points and they face another tough contest with a tricky tip to Castleford next up.

  • The Wolves will be without Sitaleki Akauola for the next two matches after he was handed a Grade C dangerous throw charge but fellow prop Chris Hill will return from a ban of his own this week.

  • Warrington have recalled loan pair Harvey Livett and Luis Johnson following a month at Hull KR and both are included in an extended 21-man squad this week with the Wolves set to potentially make a few changes to their side.

THE PREDICTION

Castleford produced one of their better displays of the season with their win over Wakefield and will want to build on that against Warrington. The Wolves were on the end of a shock defeat to Salford last week and face a tough test here with this set to be an open game that could go either way. Warrington may have one eye on next week’s Challenge Cup semi-final and that may allow the Tigers to further enhance their play-off hopes.
